The Kamehameha Canoe Club was founded in 1947 under the auspices of the Order of Kamehameha Lodge in Keaukaha. The club was reorganized in 1954 by Robert Puakea Sr., Eddie Hamauku and Dan Nathaniel. Head Coach was Isaac Keliipio. In 1975 it was again reorganized by John Kekua, Arnold Nathaniel, Abe Remy, Dale Fergestrom and Joe Kealoha. Their aim is to perpetuate the Art and Sport of Outrigger Canoe Racing.
